解説

Rikuba number-132（陸羽132号）：大正から昭和初期にかけて普及したイネの品種。寒さに強く、当時の東北の農家にとっては「希望の星」だった。

ammonium sulfate（硫酸アンモニウム）：現在も「硫安りゅうあん」の名で使われる化学肥料。即効性があるが、詩の中では、少年が収穫を急ぐあまり「やり過ぎた」ことを賢治が指摘している。

weeping blade（泣き葉）：窒素肥料の与えすぎで、葉が軟弱になり垂れ下がった状態。そのままでは「いもち病」の温床になるため、賢治は「むしり取れ」と緊急の処置を命じている。

1082：作品ナンバーではなく日付。1927年10月8日の2番目に書かれた心象スケッチであることを示す。
