The My Reborn

I woke up in what seemed to be some kind of research lab some days later. Of course, I'm in a room in a building within the vast factory grounds of Ibuki Electric where Hinami works. She picked me up as I got up from my workbench.

"Yukari, from now on you'll live your life properly, okay? I'll make sure you live your life to the fullest. You can stay at my house while you're at school," she said. I was so moved that I felt like I was going to cry, but at the time there was no cleaning fluid inside my eyes, so my appearance from the outside didn't change.

Hinami continued to tell me.

"Are your past memories are okay? Are there any glitches that have mixed in other people's memories?"

"No, not at all."

"That's good then. But even so, today's technology is amazing. The past memory data that was created to be written into your ROM in the end, the data that was input into the AI, was almost identical to the scan results of the formalin-preserved brain specimen that was borrowed from the police as evidence."

"I, I see... And then, from inside the jar, I've seen you clenching your teeth while studying for your university entrance exams, your murderous expression as your final exams approached, and your remote interviews on your laptop. We were really happy when you hugged the bottle with a smile on your face."

"Whaaat!?"

Her face immediately turned red.

"Are you heard everything?!"

"Of course. That put my mind at ease. And I could study with her. No matter how much data is preset in the ROM, you still need to use it in university classes. Let me read some basic technical books later."

"That's fine, but... if you do that, I'll be your mentor, so study hard."

She answered with a big smile. Because I wanted to at least have enough knowledge to be able to maintain my body on my own. After that, I did a few weeks of rehabilitation-like training to get my consciousness and the machine used to.

The other day, Hinami invited me to go to her alma mater, a technical university, and I devoured papers about me. She and Koyuki-chan have been competing in their respective fields of expertise to revive me ever since. She was in robotics, and the other went into biological science and clone research. Even after they entered graduate school and got jobs at the research institute.

Hinami's words at that time, "Yukari-chan, you had a lot of things you wanted to do too..." were a genuine promise.

I didn't want to call them "mad scientists" because it would be disrespectful to my benefactors, but I was filled with the desire to call them by that term as a positive expression of gratitude for all they had done for me.

Hinami wanted to set up a foundation soon to bring back to life children who had unfortunately lost their lives to murder, accidents, disease, etc., through android prosthetic consciousness transplant resuscitation method. And also children who had been killed in wars overseas or massacred by government agencies. I wanted to help with that plan. She seemed to think that people who raised opposing opinions on the grounds that it was against ethics or doctrine, they were accomplices to murder, and I agreed it.
