This is a surprisingly entertaining rom-com that balances ridiculous comedy with genuine emotional development. Its biggest strength is Kouta himself. Although his constant hesitation can be frustrating, his fear of hurting or losing Kumi and Choco gives his character more depth than the typical indecisive rom-com protagonist. The eventual confession feels earned because the story spends considerable time building toward his decision.
Kumi and Choco also have good chemistry with Kouta, and their relationship gradually develops beyond simple comedy. The nightmares in Episodes 58–59 are especially effective because they expose the insecurities of all three characters and lead naturally into Kouta finally accepting their relationship.
However, the novel has obvious weaknesses. The sexual jokes are extremely repetitive and sometimes overwhelm the actual character writing. Choco in particular occasionally feels more like a comedy gimmick than a fully developed character. The plot can also feel episodic, with many chapters existing primarily to set up another joke or cute interaction. The supernatural-like coincidence of all three characters having similar nightmares is also quite contrived.
Still, the story knows exactly what it wants to be: a silly, chaotic, occasionally heartfelt school rom-com. It isn't particularly realistic or sophisticated, but it is fun, surprisingly sincere, and easy to keep reading. 7/10.
